Age of Sovereigns is a competitive game built on strategy and skill. These rules exist to keep the experience fair and enjoyable for everyone. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
1. Fair Play
Compete on merit. Any behaviour that gives you an unfair advantage over other players is forbidden, including:
- Cheating software: using mods, hacks, bots, scripts, or any third-party tool that modifies or automates gameplay.
- Exploiting bugs: intentionally using unintended game behaviour to gain resources, troops, or territory. Report bugs instead; we reward responsible disclosure.
- Alt account abuse: owning more than one account is allowed, but using your accounts against each other is not. This includes attacking your own accounts to harvest gold or experience, moving troops, cities or resources from one account to another, and using a second account to scout for your main. The same applies between accounts in one household: feeding a family member's or housemate's account is the same violation as feeding your own. The rule is about what accounts do to each other, not about who owns them.
- Account sharing: allowing another person to play on your account, or playing on someone else's account.
- Coordinated boosting: deliberately losing battles or transferring resources to artificially inflate another account.
- Win trading: arranging battles so that one side or both farm the rewards. This includes repeatedly attacking a target that is kept weak on purpose, swapping the same cities back and forth, and dumping troops into a city so the defender collects the kill rewards.
- Throwaway accounts: creating or recruiting accounts that exist only to be attacked, to fill up a clan, or to collect clan gifts and other group rewards.
Sharing a home network or a device with family or friends is normal and is never a violation on its own. We judge what accounts do to each other, not who owns them.
2. Respectful Communication
Age of Sovereigns has in-game chat for leagues, alliances, and private messages. All communication must remain respectful. The following are not allowed:
- Harassment, threats, bullying, or targeted abuse of any player.
- Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
- Sharing personal information (real names, addresses, phone numbers) of other players without their consent.
- Spam, excessive caps, or flooding chat channels.
- Advertising external products, services, or other games.
Trash talk is part of competitive gaming; personal attacks are not. Keep it about the game.
3. Account and Payment Integrity
The following actions undermine the trust that makes our services possible:
- Fraudulent chargebacks: disputing a payment for items that were successfully delivered to your account. This results in an immediate permanent ban and possible legal action.
- Unauthorized purchases: making purchases using another person's payment method without their consent.
- Attempting to access others' accounts: including phishing, social engineering, or credential stuffing.
4. Game Integrity
The following behaviours damage the competitive environment for all players:
- Intentionally disrupting leagues or alliances from the inside (sandbagging, leaking strategies).
- Using real-money transactions outside of official channels to trade in-game items or accounts.
- Publicly claiming to have found a cheating method or bug without first reporting it to us privately.
5. Usernames and Profile Content
Your in-game name and any visible text must not contain:
- Offensive, hateful, or sexually explicit language.
- Impersonation of other players, public figures, or Age of Sovereigns staff.
- URLs or references to external websites or services.
We reserve the right to rename accounts without notice.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct are handled based on severity and history:
- Warning: for minor first-time infractions.
- Temporary suspension: for repeated or more serious violations, ranging from 24 hours to 30 days.
- Permanent ban: for severe violations (cheating, fraud, sustained harassment) or repeated suspensions.
Bans apply to the account, device, and payment method. Attempts to circumvent a ban by creating a new account result in all associated accounts being banned.
7. Reporting Violations
If you witness a player breaking these rules, please report them in-game or contact us directly. Providing screenshots or recordings speeds up our review.
All reports are treated confidentially. We do not disclose the outcome of actions taken against another account.
Report to: support@age-of-sovereigns.com
8. Appeals
If you believe your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by emailing support@age-of-sovereigns.com within 30 days of the action. Include your in-game name and a description of the situation. We review all appeals fairly, but decisions on severe violations (cheating, fraud) are rarely reversed.
9. Changes to This Code
We may update this Code of Conduct as the game evolves. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Continued play constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
